Transitions
Art fashion show exploring the transition from fall to winter

Doors open at 7 pm. Show starts at 7:30.
Tickets available on the website (link below) through Eventbrite secure checkout or at Grandma’s Pantry in Killaloe.

In 2019 we are returning to our original concept of celebrating the month of November by exploring the concept of transition as our main focus. The six courses will be cocktails and finger food, plus the focus will be on a fashion show featuring wearable artwork accompanied by sound pieces.

Multi-sensory art experience includes:
6 wearable art pieces
6 culinary delights (light finger food)
6 designer drinks with a suggested alcohol paring (alcohol sold separately)
6 sound pieces
6 poems
Silent Auction

Art Installation

Curator Anya Gansterer is working with artists Andrew Trull, Lydia Vanderstall, Eva Gallagher, Zosia Kosinski, Theresa Prince, Joyce Lorbetskie, Catherine Bloskie, Talli Chaimovitz, Tanya Lyons and Shirley Murphy to create an art installation based on "setting the table"

Workshops:

Pottery with Eva Gallagher

Session 1: Oct. 8 ~ 1 - 3 pm - Killaloe Friendship Club

Learn how to hand-build a dinner plate and salad bowl

Session 2: Tuesday, Nov. 5 ~ 1 - 3 pm, Killaloe Friendship Club

Be guided in decorating your dinner plate and salad bowl. Eva will fire your creations after both sessions


Weaving with Shirley Murphy

Friday, Nov. 22 ~ 1 - 3 pm - Opeongo Seniors Centre

You will learn the fundamentals of weaving on a loom


Altered Glassware with Tanya Lyons

Wed. Dec. 4 ~ 2 to 4 pm, North Street community Centre

Learn how to alter glassware by engraving, sandblasting and acid etching


Kashubian Embroidery with Zosia Kosinski,Theresa Prince, Joyce Lorbetckie and Catherine Bloskie

Use mixed media collage techniques to create a placemat. With your permission we will scan your artwork and turn it into a placemat for the community meal.


The Handmade Feast

The community is invited to attend a meal and the revealing of We set the table for...art installation.

The meal will be inspired by favourite recipes collected from project participants. this event will include musical entertainment and decorations created by project participants
