In this playground of sound, contemporary Canadian folk songwriter Kate Weekes and acclaimed multi-instrumentalist James Stephens explore the travelogue that is Weekes' dazzling 2019 release, 'Taken by Surprise'. Emilyn Stam and John David Williams merge the voices of clarinet, violin, diatonic and chromatic accordions to create a modern sound steeped in tradition, with traditional music from France, and original compositions influenced by French, Klezmer, and Canadian traditions. Each duo will lead a set, and in a game of musical Red Rover, they will call each other over.

Doors open at 7 pm. Concert at 7:30 pm.

Annie Lou
Sat Nov 9
30 Elsie St, Eganville
7:30 - 10:30 pm
$30

With banjo and guitar in hand, Annie Lou invites us in
to the joyful marriage of old and new music, where we laugh, cry, dance,
reflect and connect. Her ballads, tunes, and songs are painted with a
palette of oldtime folk and bluegrass, and her vocal warmth blends the
sweet tones of the McGarrigles with the raw emotion of Hazel Dickens. A
storyteller at heart, Annie Lou maps the homescapes of our lives and
times in the world, shining a warm light on the hard ones as well as the
good ones.
