The Ontario Library Association’s Evergreen Award, part of the Forest of Reading, is best described as the “readers’ choice” of Canadian literary awards. Each year, a list of ten nominees is selected by a committee of librarians and in September library patrons from all across the province can vote on their favourite. The winner will be announced during Ontario Public Library Week in October (20-26). Stop-in at BUPL to fill out your voting card, or pick up a copy of the book(s) you haven't read!

Since 2000, First Nation Public Libraries have used one week of the year to raise awareness of their resources, services, programs and activities. First Nations Public Library Week is celebrated the first week of October to coincide with Canadian Library Month.
First Nations Public Library Week is not only an opportunity to promote public library services but also to celebrate cultural uniqueness through creative library programming.
Stay tuned for scheduled programs thorughout this week, in theme of 2019's Revitalizing Indigenous Languages.

Each non-perishable, non-expired item knocks $2 off your fines, up to a maximum of $20. Food collected supports the LFP (Little Free Pantry) at BUPL and the Eganville Foodbank.
